Denali for Lucy
Lucy Westlake is 13 years old and doing something Truly special.
What has come together since OEN ambassadors Zak Klein and Hannah Quimby met her in April is truly extraordinary, and may include some new world records. The short version is that a team of 6 climbers, including Zak, Hannah, Lucy and her dad are going to fly to Alaska at the end of May 2017 to spend up to three weeks on Denali 20,156 feet (6,144 m), attempting to reach its summit. If they do, this will mean (among many things!):
- Lucy Westlake will become the youngest girl to reach all 50 of the highest points in every state in America.
- Zak and Hannah will reach the top of "their" peak #49 (with only Hawaii left - you're invited to hike that one with them!)
- With your help the campaign will both support the expedition and Outdoors Empowered Network! (read more below)
Every day, between now and the day they complete their climb, we will be posting to facebook about their progress.
Finally, the fundraising effort is taking place through an ONLINE AUCTION that is LIVE NOW- until June 11th (8pm EST), so you'll get a chance to win some amazing trips, food, outdoor gear and more as well as support a great cause.

More about the fundraising effort: Our goal is to raise $50,000!
Through this campaign .50 cents for every dollar raised will go to Outdoors Empowered Network and its mission to connect young people to nature. The balance of these funds will offset climber costs and help Lucy and her team reach the summit of America's highest peak. In doing so, Lucy will become the youngest girl to ever reach the highest peaks in all 50 states, and you'll be helping us all provide young people with positive experiences in nature and all the stress relief and good health that only nature can bring. Thank you!
